Welcomes Slaughter Family Home: Mission Accomplished for ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" November 2008 Construction is completed and the family settles in to their new home Pittsburgh, PA (November 3, 2008) – From the door knock announcement on October 17th to shouts of the iconic phrase “move that bus” on the 24th, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in conjunction with Montgomery & Rust, Inc and Tailored Marketing, Inc worked tirelessly to make a Penn Hills family’s dreams come true. Tailored Marketing was truly honored to be chosen as the
marketing coordinator and pubic relations liason for the popular ABC television
show. In addition to handling press relations at the house site, a large
amount of pre-planning was also involved in preparing for the arrival
of the crew and the “door knock” day announcing to the Slaughter
family that they had been chosen as recipients of a new home. A custom-made
website was created by Tailored Marketing’s Kerri Lozano and it
served as a way for the public to catch up on home progress, learn about
the family, see photos, read daily blogs, and find out how they could
give of their time through voluneering. This website, in conjuction with
several press releases and news reports led to more than 1,000 people
from Pennsylvania, Ohio, and as far away as Maryland and Delaware to volunteer
their time and effort to help a family in need. |
