TMI secured the buses and transit shelters surrounding PNC Park in preparation for the 2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

NIKE was able to gain millions of media impressions, as well as dominate visibility around the ball park during the month leading up to the game.

Lung Cancer Alliance

Located in Washington, DC – The only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to patient support and advocacy for people living with lung cancer and those at risk for the disease.

Project

To create a national campaign to bring awareness to lung cancer.

Solution

Foundation of the campaign started with acquiring three sports legends that each had a connection to lung cancer: Cal Ripken Jr., Troy Aikman, and Joe Buck. The campaign’s theme became “Faces In the Fight”. Marketing tactics included creative for print, radio, video, and appearances. Appearances with a satellite media component included: Super Bowl XLI, 2006 MLB All-Star Game, and a 2007 luncheon on Capitol Hill. Grassroots media outreach program to over 1,000 national media outlets as well as all the Major and Minor League baseball teams.

Results

LCA raised over $30 million. They were able to distinguish themselves from several cancer related causes. Millions of impressions were generated through satellite media tours and the outreach program.
